But, who is Mert (Márcio Ferreira) Nobre?

Márcio Ferreira Nobre (born November 6, 1980 in Jateí, Brazil), also known as Mert Nobre, is an association footballer. He plays at the striker position. He also holds Turkish nationality. Nobre was transferred to Fenerbahçe SK and joined his former Cruzeiro team-mate Alex at his new club. Joining during the winter break, he would finish the season efficiently, scoring 12 goals in 18 matches. After Fenerbahçe lost the 2005-06 title, Nobre was released due to the rule of six non-Turkish players in a squad limit.

At the start of the 2006-07 season, he changed his name to Mert Nobre, after he gained Turkish citizenship. He currently has the chance of playing for the Turkey national football team if he is elected by the manager, following in suit of his friend and former team-mate, Mehmet Aurélio. He played at Paysandu, XV de Piracicaba, Sport, Paraná Clube, Kashiwa Reysol, Cruzeiro, Fenerbahçe SK, Beşiktaş, Mersin İdmanyurdu and is currently playing for Kayserispor of Turkey.
